ESPANA 25 January - 7 February

Map of Spain

So, after a pre empted very teary, not very nice goodbye in Colombia we headed off with our tonns to Spain. We stayed with Paulo's cousin Katherine and Carlos. They have 2 adorable children, Catalina (primary school) and Antonio (new born), who live in Tarragona, in the Catalan region of Spain (north eastern coast, the "Costa Dourada"). Tarragona is about an hour in normal traffic south of Barcelona. Katherine is Paulo's second cousin, daughter of Maria Luisa, who is daughter of Mariela (Mariela is Paulo's mum, Cristina's sister). Katherine have been together for ages and moved to Spain a few years ago. Highly tired and seriously jetlagged we slept in half the day for the first few daysand were not very exciting visitors. It was great to meet them, finally, having only known them from photos and Carlos's calls at 3-5am in the mornings (on purpose ha ha funny) and Paulo was glad to be with his cousins and they with him as they had always been very close in Colombia. We managed to get a few hours looking around Tarragona and surrounding suburbs = Reus, Cambrils (where Carlos works in an Olive manufacturing company) in between sleeping off the jetlag as well as hanging around Carlos' family who are almost all in Catalunya as well.
