yes, i did shave my hair...

Now if you remember my email I said I wouldn’t do it unless I raised $1000, well, I didn’t quite make it to $1000 but I still did it with the philosophy that there are many people whose hair is lost to treatments such as quimotherapy and it's not their choice, rather the effect of a treatment which in many cases is life saving or life-prolonging. So, alas, I have the CHOICE to shave my hair so I decided I would still shave my hair, for that reason and also because of the generocity of many friends who have helped me with my cause, even a $2 is generous enough and while what I have raised was not exactly $1000 it is still $$$ that thy did not have before so I have decided this is a great outcome.

So, my hair ???? Well, some people raised concers about the "excessiveness" of shaving my hair to raise money. Well, I would like to ease your those concerns by saying I have been enjoying my environmentally friendly haircut. Less Shampoo meaning less SLS poisens in the body and in the waterways (###please see below for what SLS is), and now that I don’t have to make an effort to try and brush my hair I get to sleep in longer in the mornings b4 work!!! Now while I may not keep the shaved look forever it is certainly a nice change, so no worries ! I am ok!!!!!!
Anyway, enough of the superficial my efforts had no consideration to what I may look like with a shaved head etc, it is to help young people living with Cancer through the CanTeen organisations' programs. Please see CanTeen for details on CanTeen and what they do and what they stand for.

#### SLS= Sodium Lauryl Sulphate = SLS. You should try avoiding products with this ingredient in shampoos, conditioners, soap, toothpaste and other products you use on your skin hair as it is a chemical used to wash factory floors and the only reason products have this ingredient in them is to make the product produce more bubbles so to give the illusion that it cleans better. This is not so and without SLS the product would clean just as well, but just have less bubbles. Anyway, a poisen which is used to clean factory floors was never meant to be absorbed by the body and research suggests the body takes a very long time if not ever to break it down in the body).
